the CDKEY from the About window, then
contact us for an
unlock code. The CDKEY looks like this - all numbers
xxxxxxxx-xxxxxx-xxx-xxxxx. If it has letters and is in two parts (name
and key), you are good to go, install the new version and you do not
have to contact us. Please do this PRIOR to installing the latest
version. We are no longer supplying a separate CDROM version.

Here are the changes in release 1.90:
- Added new secondary test: web page retrieval supporting both
http and https. Unexpected server response code or the lack of a
specific string (visible or hidden) in the retrieved web page can
trigger an error. Server status codes generating errors are user
controllable.
- New columns for webpage retrieval test: in Settings/Program
Control tab/Column Visibility - URL to test, Server Response
Status Code after URL retrieval is attempted and a column showing
any text expected to appear in the web page retrieved.
- Target List Editor supports adding/editing new web page
retrieval secondary test parameters.

ipPulse v1.85 was released on June 29, 2015
Here are the changes in release 1.85:
- Added new checkbox 'Validate SMTP Server Certificate' to Email
Settings (see Settings/Failure Alerts/Email Settings). This
checkbox controls whether or not any email server certificates are
validated. Default is checked.
- Added new column 'Last Ping Time' to the main window. It shows
the last ping round-trip-time in milliseconds. To activate this
column, click on Settings/Program Control/Edit Column Visibility.
Ensure that the checkbox 'Last Ping Time' is checked.
- User defined SNMP OID columns are now not visible by default.
- Tested on Windows 10 build 10130.
ipPulse v1.84 was released on October 9, 2014

ipPulse v1.83 was released on September 6, 2012
Here are the changes in this release:
- Sorting has been
added. Click on a header after you have stopped scanning to sort.
- Drag and reorder columns has been added. Left click on a header, hold
down the button and move the column right or left. Note this is not
'sticky', in other words the columns will return to their original
order on program restart.
- Improved 'autosizing' columns and added
new right click menu options for autosizing.
- Some internal cleanup
was done.

ipPulse v1.80 was released on May

Here are the changes in this release:
- Added the ability
to send notification emails through secure email servers using TLS.
This allows you to send notifications through a number of services
including Yahoo, Hotmail and Gmail. Examples are in the help file.
- Updated the program icon.
- Renamed Setup to Settings. This is a more
commonly understood term for the program settings.
- Added button to
select a minimal set of columns in the Settings/Program Control/Edit
Column Visibility window.
- Added logic to define a minimal set of
columns in case all saved columns are invisible.

ipPulse v1.70 was released on May 20, 2010. It
is now tested and compatible with Windows 7, Vista, XP, 2008, 2003,
and 2000. Other operating systems are not supported.
Changes
- All software now compiled using Visual
Studio 2008. This will allow Windows 7 operation.
- Moved all
logfiles and the list of targets to user data location to properly
support Windows 2000, XP, 2003, 2008, Vista and Windows 7.
- Memory
leak while resolving hostnames from IP addresses has been corrected.
- Removed 'Raw Sockets' option for sending Ping packets.

pager option. Cell phones can be notified using email instead.

and feel modified to conform to later software standards.

instead of Pass to avoid confusion with PASSing tests.

ipPulse v1.65 was released
on November 15, 2005. It contains the following new items, fixes and

- Fixed a
problem with sending emails to pagers that was exceeding the 160
character limit. The message body is now blank in that mode and there
are only the minimum header fields. Reference Setup/Failure
Alerts/Email Setup/Send Failure Message in Subject Line.
- Added an
option to control the use of SNMP v1 or v2c. See Setup/Secondary
Test/SNMP Setup Parameters.
- Added an option to change the date/time
strings shown in the Last PASS/FAIL Times columns from long localized
format to short localized format. The short version is now the
default. See Setup/Program Control/Appearance.
- Added an option to
load a target list file based on the command line. This means that
ippulse.exe c:\somelistfile.txt will load the contents of that file
into the target list. The file may be of the full target list format,
or it can be a list of IPv4 addresses or hostnames, one per line.
- Change the SNMP Results Window from a 32k character max Edit Control
to an unlimited character count Rich Edit control to facilitate
display of long SNMP results.
- Added four new user defined OIDs.
- Added 12 columns to display the first item retrieved by the user
defined OIDs. The column headers are also user defined.
- Added
Find/Find Next to search for text within the grid.

ipPulse v1.53 was

- Fixed problem in Pager Setup/Test pager. If the
first phone number was shorter than any other phone numbers, the other
phone numbers were truncated to the length of the first phone number.
This only affected testing a numerica pager.
- Added new option to
numeric pager messaging. IP addresses of alerted targets can now be
sent to the pager. This is done by supporting POCSAG capable numeric
pagers. Certain non-numeric characters can be sent as delimiter
characters to represent the periods between the octets in an IP
address: "E", "U", " ", "-", "]", and "[". If 'none' is selected no
delimiter is sent.
- Updated paging support with newer source code.
- Added button to delete Modem Log from the Pager Setup window.
- Added
button to view Modem Log from main window 'View Logs' button.
ipPulse v1.52 was released on June 10, 2003. It contains the following

- Finally found source of obscure problem that made
ipPulse fail when running as a service using service wrapper programs.
As a result of this the minimize to taskbar tray feature has been
removed for now.
- To disallow DNS queries for first pass, you can
set the 'Number of Passes to Attempt Resolve' to zero.

so it really works: SNMP mibs can be added now by simply copying the
mib into the MIBS directory and restarting the program.
